1 Aralık 2023
14:00 - 15:00
B-409

Mühendislik ve Doğa Bilimleri Fakültemizin düzenlediği seminer serisinin yeni konuğu, Prof. Dr. Şener Oktik (Kadir Has Üniversitesi) olacak.

Prof. Oktik, 1 Aralık Cuma saat 14:00’te B-409’da “Nanotechnology for Photovoltaics” başlıklı bir sunum yapacak. Etkinlik ilgilenen herkesin katılımına açıktır ve İngilizcedir.

Özet: In the roadmap to overcome the Shockley-Queisser (SQ) limit for single junction solar cells the basic concepts of physics have been employed in photovoltaic conversion in devices such as multijunction solar cells, intermediate band solar cells, hot electron solar cells, multiple exciton generation solar cell, up-conversion, down-conversion. The potential of nanotechnology and nanomaterials in the progress of these concepts for photovoltaic conversion has been attracting significant interest in academic and industrial research. The nanostructures in photovoltaic conversion might be categorized as (i) dimensionless (zero dimension) such as quantum dots and nanoparticles; (ii) one dimension such as nanowires and nanotubes; (iii) two dimensions such as quantum wells; (iv) three dimensions such as nanostructured bulk materials and composites. Nanotechnology promises a significant potential for designing and manufacturing photovoltaic cells at higher efficiencies at lower cost. This work aims to give a summary of the status of nanotechnology for photovoltaic conversion.
