Abstract: In the seminar, the role and impact of artificial intelligence and machine learning in some important areas today will be discussed. Starting from the history of artificial intelligence, the evolution of significant developments such as large language models (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) will be covered, and machine learning applications in the restaurant and hospitality sectors will be included. Additionally, the workflows and project management of machine learning projects, the common challenges encountered in these projects, and the advantages and disadvantages of pursuing a career in the field of machine learning will be addressed. The presentation will convey to the participants the current applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning, the transformative effect of these technologies on the service sector, and the potential opportunities and challenges of working in this field.

Speaker Biography: As a Machine Learning and Data Science engineer, I have successfully implemented various projects in image processing, time series analysis, regression, and classification over my five-year industry experience. I have played significant roles in adapting these projects to the business world and making them available for use. Currently, I am pursuing a master’s degree in Computer Engineering at Kadir Has University, where I am further strengthening my academic and practical skills with the knowledge I acquire during this period. Dedicated to continually improving myself in MLOps and cloud technologies (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.), I am passionate about creating innovative projects in these areas. I place great importance on collaboration within the team and discipline in completing projects within the planned timeframe. I aim to contribute to my career with a deep technical knowledge base and industry experience while offering innovative solutions through a continuous learning and self-improvement approach. In line with this goal, I aim to solve new challenges that arise in the fields of machine learning and data science and contribute to developments in technology and artificial intelligence by increasing my knowledge and experience in these areas.
