How to Interpret Reports?
  • A similarity score does not inherently imply plagiarism; matched text must be evaluated for proper citation and quotation compliance.
  • Bibliographies and correctly referenced in-text quotations may naturally increase the percentage.
  • The AI Writing Report is not a definitive judgment; it serves as a supportive indicator to assist instructor evaluation.
Best Practices
  • Upload selectable-text Word (DOCX) or PDF files instead of scanned image PDFs.
  • Always place verbatim text inside quotation marks and cite the primary source.
  • Always upload your own original work; submitting files belonging to others constitutes an academic integrity violation.

No. A high percentage alone does not constitute a violation. References, title pages, or properly cited quotations can also elevate the score. The critical factor is whether matched content is cited in accordance with academic standards.

For initial submissions, reports are typically generated promptly. However, from the 3rd resubmission onwards to the same assignment, Turnitin enforces a mandatory 24-hour delay before generating subsequent reports.

Scanned image-only PDFs created from physical books or papers contain no selectable text and cannot be processed by Turnitin. Please export or save your original Word document directly as a digital PDF before uploading.

Turnitin within KHAS Learn is dedicated to coursework and course-related assignment evaluation. Separate turnitin.com accounts used for independent faculty research, theses, or external paper screenings are managed by the Information Center (Library).
