Our Philosophy

Kadir Has University has built its foundations on the philosophy of “I owe a debt to the homeland” of its founder, Mr. Kadir Has, who devoted his existence to education.

Based on this statement, our main goal is to contribute to the education, development and progress of our country through research that paves the way for innovative, democratic thought and action, and academic studies of universal quality.

Our aim is to provide an environment of education, research and academic freedom parallel to the world’s leading universities. One of our primary goals is to educate our students with interdisciplinary equipment, to ensure their continuous development in social and cultural fields while preparing for the future, and to learn to make multidimensional evaluations while searching for the truth.

The essence of the philosophy of Kadir Has University is that our students who are self-confident, inquisitive, able to care about all opinions and evaluate them with tolerance, open to national and international collaborations, become successful and happy individuals at all levels and become pioneers in society. To achieve this goal:

• We focus on providing education at international quality standards and keep tuition fees at reasonable levels in favor of our students, without seeking profit;
• We offer scholarships to all successful students with high grade point averages without any other conditions;
• We deliberately keep student quotas limited and aspire to educate a small number of highly qualified students;
• By focusing on certain academic fields, we aim to provide quality education specialized in certain fields, not to enter every field;
• We offer our advanced technological infrastructure, venues and all intellectual opportunities to our students without limits;
• We renew and improve our curricula and contents every year in line with international developments and needs, and we prefer a dynamic curriculum that is subjective rather than static;

• By encouraging our students and faculty to freely express their opinions, criticisms, wishes and creative ideas, we focus on creating academic freedom, intellectual debate and friendly, positive human relations in a democratic atmosphere;

• We carefully select our faculty members from among the graduates of internationally recognized universities and encourage them to view their fields of specialization not only from Turkey but also from a global perspective;

• We want the understanding of sustainable intellectual development to be the basic guide of our faculty members who constantly collaborate with business life;

• We realize social responsibility projects that will contribute to our environment and society in general, and we encourage our students to grow up with the awareness of being responsible and good citizens;

• We support our successful students to study abroad through collaborations with internationally recognized universities;

• With our open door to international interaction, we are on our way to becoming a world university in the center of Istanbul.
