TÜBİTAK 1001 Grant for Prof. Dr. Kemal Yelekçi

It is our distinct pleasure to announce that the project coordinated by Prof. Dr. Kemal Yelekçi from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics and entitled “Discovery of Unique Peptidomimetic Compounds with Computational and Experimental Methods for Understanding and Preventing Tau Protein Aggregation Mechanism in Alzheimer’s Disease” has been funded by TUBİTAK 1001 – The Scientific and Technological Research Projects Funding Program.

This project aims to discover new peptidomimetic drug candidates by targeting the tau protein, which plays a critical role in Alzheimer’s disease. The results obtained through a multidisciplinary approach combining computational biology, chemistry, and pharmacology represent an important step toward the development of target-specific novel drug compounds for Alzheimer’s treatment.

Assist. Prof. Yasemin Önder takes part in the project as a Researcher. We congratulate our faculty member for his achievement and wish him continued success.

We also would like to thank Assist. Prof. Yasemin Önder, Assist. Prof. Şebnem Eşsiz and Prof. Dr. Demet Akten for their valuable contributions during the panels.
