Faculty of Art and Design Internal and External Stakeholders

The Faculty of Art and Design conducts its education and training, research, artistic production, and social contribution activities within a multi-stakeholder structure.

The Faculty’s internal and external stakeholders contribute to educational processes at different levels in order to enhance academic quality, keep program content up to date, and establish strong and sustainable relations with professional fields.

Internal Stakeholders

The Faculty’s internal stakeholders include academic staff, students, alumni, the Faculty and University administration, and administrative units.

In addition, internal mentors who contribute to in-house courses are actively involved in educational processes.

Internal mentors are an important stakeholder group that strengthens interdisciplinary interaction, guides project processes, and supports students’ academic/professional development.

Internal stakeholders regularly contribute to program development, the evaluation of learning outcomes, quality assurance processes, and strategic planning efforts.

External Stakeholders

The Faculty’s external stakeholders consist of industry representatives, professional practitioners, professional bodies and associations, experts working in the arts and culture sector, public and private sector institutions, and alumni.

Department Academic Advisory Boards (DAAB)

Department Academic Advisory Boards are advisory bodies established to support departments’ activities in education and training, research, artistic production, and social contribution.

The boards consist of faculty members, industry representatives, professional organizations, experts from the arts and culture sector, and alumni. When necessary, student representatives may also be included in the process.

The main duties of the boards are as follows:

  • To evaluate curricula in line with national and international developments and provide recommendations,
  • To provide guidance to strengthen academia–industry–arts collaborations,
  • To contribute to updating program outcomes by benefiting from alumni experiences,
  • To develop suggestions for activities that support students’ professional and artistic development,
  • To offer strategic recommendations that contribute to the Faculty’s vision.

Through these boards, the Faculty systematically integrates stakeholder feedback into its educational processes.

Faculty–Industry Collaborations within the Scope of Project-Based Education

By adopting a Project-Based Education approach, the Faculty of Art and Design establishes direct and sustainable relationships with industry.

Real-life projects increase students’ professional awareness and support creative/productive/active learning processes.

Industry representatives participate in project processes as mentors, advisors, or partners; these collaborations are sustained within a broad framework covering design, production, construction, architecture, art, and performance.

These partnerships create internship and employment opportunities, expand students’ professional networks, and strengthen the quality of educational outcomes.

Contributions to Courses and Events

External stakeholders contribute to courses and events carried out within the Faculty through jury membership, seminars, workshops, talks, and hands-on activities.

These contributions help relate course content to current developments and enable students to engage with different professional perspectives.
