DESIGNHUB-IST: Panel on Circularity in Lighting Design
DESIGNHUB-IST Design, Application and Education Center, which is supported by Istanbul Development Agency and continues its activities under the leadership of Kadir Has University Faculty of Art and Design, is organizing a panel on “Circularity in Lighting Design”.
The panel will take place on Zoom on Thursday, December 22nd, between 14:00-16:00, in cooperation with the Lighting Equipment Manufacturers Association, one of DESIGNHUB-IST participants. Participation is free of charge.

Panel Topic
Approximately 80 percent of the environmental impact of products can be determined at the design stage, and with the right design, resource, energy, time and cost savings can be achieved. For this reason, design is an important and indispensable component of the circular economy approach. Circularity is achieved by prioritizing renewable inputs in designs, using the product with maximum efficiency, and recycling by-products and waste. With this perspective, in our seminar, we will share with you firstly the developments on Circular Economy in the world and in Turkey, the importance and place of e-waste in the circularity strategy, and finally, examples of circularity applications in the lighting sector.
