KHAS PROJECT-BASED EDUCATION MODEL
In Kadir Has University, relations with local stakeholders and professional representatives are also provided and sustained through the KHAS Project-Based Education Model.
In Project-Based Education, all academic subjects to be taught are covered in modules tailored to a project and to the project. Starting from the second semester of the lesson plan, it is ensured that the student undertakes at least two projects each semester, questions the formation required to reach the goal in these projects, and acquires it with the subjects to be learned in that semester.
For each project, the student has an academic mentor and a mentor who works with essential representatives of the industry. Industrial stakeholders of the program play an active role in defining, executing, evaluating, and grading these projects.
As part of this educational model, industrial (external) stakeholders provide students with long-term internship opportunities in their work areas, production facilities, and R&D laboratories.
How Was It Prepared?
We created the Project Based Education curriculum, which we implemented in the KHAS Education Model, where career education is mainly given in the 2nd semester, together with representatives of different sectors, especially their R&D departments.
In KHAS Education Model, we have identified the academic and professional competencies that our students should have in cooperation with the industry and developed a model that is unique in Turkey and an example for the world: A model in which all professional competencies are transferred to students through the projects we have developed with our leading business partners in the sector.
Our students, who start their education within the scope of the Core Program in the first semester, acquire all the theoretical knowledge and practical skills they need with the Project-Based Education Model starting from the second semester, integrated into project development and implementation processes.

KADIR HAS UNIVERSITY & SILIVRI MUNICIPALITY FREE ENGLISH EDUCATION
Kadir Has University actively collaborates with government departments on projects aimed at social development and youth empowerment. For example, in partnership with Silivri Municipality, Kadir Has University organized a special project to enhance language skills among young people. Through this collaboration, the Silivri Education Academy launched its second Free English Course in 2023, benefiting students between the ages of 9-15.
Held at Kadir Has University’s Selimpaşa Campus, the Conversational English Program aimed to improve students’ practical language abilities. The training took place in two sessions: the first from July 3, 2023, to August 3, 2023, and the second from August 7, 2023, to September 7, 2023. At the end of the program, 80 students received certificates, marking their achievement in English proficiency. This project demonstrates our university’s commitment to initiatives that support local communities, provide equal opportunities, and foster skills essential for future success.
KADIR HAS UNIVERSITY & SILIVRI MUNICIPALITY FREE UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE EXAM PREPARATORY COURSE
In order to better prepare Silivri students for the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) and to increase equality of opportunity in education, a free university preparation course was implemented in cooperation with Silivri Municipality and Kadir Has University. In the university preparation course held at Kadir Has University Selimpaşa Campus, 122 students consisting of high school seniors and high school graduates received free education. 21 students were admitted to engineering faculty, 12 students to faculty of health sciences, 1 student to faculty of law, 5 students to faculty of nursing, 18 students to faculty of science and literature, 19 students to faculty of architecture, 15 students to faculty of business administration, 8 students to faculty of communication.
