Doctoral Student Büşra Eser Receives Runner-Up Prize for Best Ongoing Dissertation

Büşra Eser, a PhD student at our university, has been awarded the runner-up prize in the “Best Ongoing Dissertation” category by the Graduate Association for Food Studies (GAFS).

Eser received this recognition for a chapter of her doctoral dissertation, which explores the relationship between Turkish customers and falafel restaurants. Her thesis, titled “Falafel, Faith and Affect: Exploring Arab-Owned Restaurants in Istanbul,” is supervised by Assoc. Prof. Defne Karaosmanoğlu.
