Undergraduate and graduate full-time students at KHAS can benefit from Erasmus+ study mobility if they meet the conditions below and submit their applications by the deadline stated in this call.
Thanks to the cooperation between the e-Devlet portal and the Turkish National Agency, Erasmus applications must be submitted through e-Devlet and MyKHAS.
Students who do not have an e-Devlet password must obtain one before the application period. You can log in to the e-Devlet system using the password you receive from PTT branches.
Following the application deadline, the KHAS Erasmus Commission will evaluate applications based on the following criteria:
All applicants are ranked from the highest to the lowest score within their faculty, and the top-scoring students are selected by the selection committee in line with faculty quotas.
Results are announced to all applicants in writing via e-mail, on the KHAS International website, and on the Erasmus and Exchange Office notice board.
After the evaluation, all eligible candidates will be placed at a partner university according to their scores and the available quotas.
As a result of this call, the KHAS Erasmus Commission will determine 65 students as Erasmus+ selected candidates based on faculty quotas (60 for faculties and 5 for graduate students). All other eligible applicants will be placed on the Erasmus+ study mobility waiting list. The waiting list will be considered in the event of cancellations on the main list or additional quotas depending on budget availability.
Please note that being selected as an Erasmus+ candidate at KHAS does not automatically mean that you will be able to go on exchange mobility. The final list of students who will benefit from Erasmus study mobility depends on the following:
Erasmus+ student mobility for studies is carried out within the framework of prior inter-institutional (bilateral) agreements between the home and host institutions, both of which must hold an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education.
To ensure high-quality mobility activities with maximum impact, the mobility period must correspond to the student’s degree-related learning. The period of study abroad must be part of the student’s study programme at KHAS and must contribute to the completion of a degree at the undergraduate or graduate level.
If you are pursuing a double major, please note that you may apply for Erasmus study mobility through only one of your majors. You will be subject to the departmental quota and available Erasmus bilateral agreements of the major you choose. If you are pursuing a minor, please note that you cannot apply through your minor programme.
You will make five university choices on the application form in order of preference. Please check the list of partner universities and quotas in the List of Partners section.
For partner universities where the language of instruction is mainly the native language of the country rather than English, applicants who have additional knowledge of that language will be given priority over those who do not. If you apply to a university where the language of instruction is not English, you may be asked to submit proof of proficiency in that language to the KHAS Erasmus and Exchange Office after the application.
The duration of mobility must be between 3 and 12 months within the same academic year. Students must be able to complete 30 ECTS credits for each academic term of mobility.
Important Note: You may select either the Fall Semester or the Spring Semester. If you plan to study abroad for a full academic year, you must first apply for the Fall Semester and then request an Erasmus extension while at the host university. Your extension request must be approved by the Erasmus Departmental Coordinator at both the host university and KHAS. At the end of the extension period, the KHAS Erasmus and Exchange Office will collect all approved requests, rank students according to their Erasmus score, and inform applicants about their grant status.
If students wish to receive a grant, Erasmus students will be funded according to their country of destination. Grant allocation depends on the number of applications received, the destination countries chosen by applicants, and the availability of funds provided by the Turkish National Agency.
Please note that Erasmus grants are only a contribution and may not cover all your expenses. Students are responsible for their own travel and living expenses during the exchange period. Monthly grant amounts are determined by the Turkish National Agency according to the cost of living in the destination country and are grouped into the categories below.
| Groups According to Living Costs | Countries | Monthly Erasmus Grant for Study Mobility |
|---|---|---|
| Group 1 and 2 Programme Countries with Higher Living Costs | Denmark, Ireland, France, Austria, Finland, Sweden, Liechtenstein, Norway, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Iceland, Malta, Czech Republic, Latvia, Estonia, Slovakia, Slovenia | 600 Euro |
| Group 3 Programme Countries with Lower Living Costs | Bulgaria, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Croatia, North Macedonia, and Serbia | 450 Euro |
Students may participate in the programme without receiving a grant. Please note that they must still complete the same application procedures and submit the required documents. Zero-grant students are not eligible for green travel grants.
Erasmus students, regardless of whether they receive a grant, are exempt from paying tuition, registration, examination, and laboratory or library access fees at the host institution. However, any fees regularly paid by local students, including insurance, residence permit fees, transportation cards, or copies of academic materials, must also be paid by Erasmus students.
Under the new Erasmus+ Programme, students are encouraged to use low-emission means of transport for the main part of their journey, such as bus, train, or carpooling. Students who use these means of transport will receive a one-time top-up payment of 50 EUR in addition to their individual support, as well as up to 4 days of extra grant support to cover travel days for a round trip, where applicable.
At the end of the mobility period, students must submit supporting documents such as bus or train tickets proving that green travel took place.
This grant is available when disabilities or health conditions lead to additional mobility-related costs that exceed the maximum grant allocation and cannot be covered by other sources.
The grant covers approved actual costs.
Please do not hesitate to contact the Erasmus and Exchange Office if you have any questions.
Only applicable to students holding Turkish citizenship.
Economically disadvantaged students selected for study mobility may receive an additional grant of 250 Euro per month from the study mobility budget, in addition to the monthly grant specified in the table above.
To benefit from this additional grant, the student must submit a document showing that either the student or the student’s parents receive financial support from municipalities, public institutions such as ministries, Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations, the General Directorate of Foundations, the Turkish Red Crescent, or the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD).
Please note that all required documents must be submitted during the application period.
All questions regarding the application process should be directed to the KHAS Erasmus and Exchange Office via e-mail at [email protected].
