HOW TO APPLY?

Thanks to the cooperation between the e-Devlet portal and the Turkish National Agency, Erasmus applications must be submitted through e-Devlet and MyKHAS.

Students who do not have an e-Devlet password must obtain one before the application period. You can log in to the e-Devlet system using the password you receive from PTT branches.

Important: Please verify this date before publishing. The current text says the application system will close on 03/04/2026 .

SELECTION OF MOBILITY CANDIDATES

Following the application deadline, the KHAS Erasmus Commission will evaluate applications based on the following criteria:

  • Academic GPA (50%)
  • English language score (50%)
  • Undergraduate/graduate-level quotas
  • Departmental representation
  • In addition to academic achievement and language score, if the applicant has previously benefited from another Lifelong Learning Programme or Erasmus+ mobility scheme at the same level of study, 10 points will be deducted for each activity used, regardless of whether it was for study or traineeship, when calculating the final Erasmus score.
  • Students with disabilities receive +10 points, provided that supporting documents are submitted during the application.
  • Children of martyrs and veterans receive +15 points, provided that supporting documents are submitted during the application.
  • Students who receive disaster-related aid from AFAD, or whose first-degree relatives receive such aid, receive +10 points.
  • Students covered by Law No. 2828 on Social Services receive +10 points, provided that supporting documents are submitted during the application.
  • Students who wish to participate in mobility in their country of citizenship receive -10 points.
  • Selected students who cancel their mobility without informing the Erasmus & Exchange Office by the stated deadline receive -10 points.
  • Students who apply for both study mobility and internship mobility will receive -10 points on one of their applications, based on their own preference.

All applicants are ranked from the highest to the lowest score within their faculty, and the top-scoring students are selected by the selection committee in line with faculty quotas.

Results are announced to all applicants in writing via e-mail, on the KHAS International website, and on the Erasmus and Exchange Office notice board.

After the evaluation, all eligible candidates will be placed at a partner university according to their scores and the available quotas.

TOTAL QUOTA FOR THE 2026–2027 ACADEMIC YEAR (FALL & SPRING SEMESTERS)

As a result of this call, the KHAS Erasmus Commission will determine 65 students as Erasmus+ selected candidates based on faculty quotas (60 for faculties and 5 for graduate students). All other eligible applicants will be placed on the Erasmus+ study mobility waiting list. The waiting list will be considered in the event of cancellations on the main list or additional quotas depending on budget availability.

Please note that being selected as an Erasmus+ candidate at KHAS does not automatically mean that you will be able to go on exchange mobility. The final list of students who will benefit from Erasmus study mobility depends on the following:

  1. The announcement of the results of KHAS’s grant application to the Turkish National Agency.
  2. The destination countries preferred by students, taking into account the country groups defined according to cost of living.
  3. The application of undergraduate/graduate-level quotas and departmental quotas by the Erasmus Commission in order to ensure that more students from different departments can benefit from the available grants.

STUDY MOBILITY CHOICES ON THE APPLICATION FORM

Erasmus+ student mobility for studies is carried out within the framework of prior inter-institutional (bilateral) agreements between the home and host institutions, both of which must hold an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education.

To ensure high-quality mobility activities with maximum impact, the mobility period must correspond to the student’s degree-related learning. The period of study abroad must be part of the student’s study programme at KHAS and must contribute to the completion of a degree at the undergraduate or graduate level.

If you are pursuing a double major, please note that you may apply for Erasmus study mobility through only one of your majors. You will be subject to the departmental quota and available Erasmus bilateral agreements of the major you choose. If you are pursuing a minor, please note that you cannot apply through your minor programme.

You will make five university choices on the application form in order of preference. Please check the list of partner universities and quotas in the List of Partners section.

For partner universities where the language of instruction is mainly the native language of the country rather than English, applicants who have additional knowledge of that language will be given priority over those who do not. If you apply to a university where the language of instruction is not English, you may be asked to submit proof of proficiency in that language to the KHAS Erasmus and Exchange Office after the application.

MOBILITY DURATION CHOICES ON THE APPLICATION FORM

The duration of mobility must be between 3 and 12 months within the same academic year. Students must be able to complete 30 ECTS credits for each academic term of mobility.

Important Note: You may select either the Fall Semester or the Spring Semester. If you plan to study abroad for a full academic year, you must first apply for the Fall Semester and then request an Erasmus extension while at the host university. Your extension request must be approved by the Erasmus Departmental Coordinator at both the host university and KHAS. At the end of the extension period, the KHAS Erasmus and Exchange Office will collect all approved requests, rank students according to their Erasmus score, and inform applicants about their grant status.

ERASMUS+ WITH GRANT OPTION

If students wish to receive a grant, Erasmus students will be funded according to their country of destination. Grant allocation depends on the number of applications received, the destination countries chosen by applicants, and the availability of funds provided by the Turkish National Agency.

Please note that Erasmus grants are only a contribution and may not cover all your expenses. Students are responsible for their own travel and living expenses during the exchange period. Monthly grant amounts are determined by the Turkish National Agency according to the cost of living in the destination country and are grouped into the categories below.

ERASMUS GRANTS ACCORDING TO THE COUNTRY OF DESTINATION

Groups According to Living Costs Countries Monthly Erasmus Grant for Study Mobility
Group 1 and 2 Programme Countries with Higher Living Costs Denmark, Ireland, France, Austria, Finland, Sweden, Liechtenstein, Norway, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Iceland, Malta, Czech Republic, Latvia, Estonia, Slovakia, Slovenia 600 Euro
Group 3 Programme Countries with Lower Living Costs Bulgaria, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Croatia, North Macedonia, and Serbia 450 Euro

ERASMUS+ WITHOUT GRANT OPTION (ZERO-GRANT OPTION)

Students may participate in the programme without receiving a grant. Please note that they must still complete the same application procedures and submit the required documents. Zero-grant students are not eligible for green travel grants.

Erasmus students, regardless of whether they receive a grant, are exempt from paying tuition, registration, examination, and laboratory or library access fees at the host institution. However, any fees regularly paid by local students, including insurance, residence permit fees, transportation cards, or copies of academic materials, must also be paid by Erasmus students.

GREEN TRAVEL GRANT

Under the new Erasmus+ Programme, students are encouraged to use low-emission means of transport for the main part of their journey, such as bus, train, or carpooling. Students who use these means of transport will receive a one-time top-up payment of 50 EUR in addition to their individual support, as well as up to 4 days of extra grant support to cover travel days for a round trip, where applicable.

At the end of the mobility period, students must submit supporting documents such as bus or train tickets proving that green travel took place.

INCLUSION SUPPORT (ADDITIONAL GRANT FOR PARTICIPANTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS)

This grant is available when disabilities or health conditions lead to additional mobility-related costs that exceed the maximum grant allocation and cannot be covered by other sources.

The grant covers approved actual costs.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Erasmus and Exchange Office if you have any questions.

ADDITIONAL GRANT FOR STUDENTS WITH FINANCIAL NEEDS

Only applicable to students holding Turkish citizenship.

Economically disadvantaged students selected for study mobility may receive an additional grant of 250 Euro per month from the study mobility budget, in addition to the monthly grant specified in the table above.

  • Students covered by Law No. 2828 on Social Services (official supporting document required)
  • Students covered by Law No. 5395 on Child Protection
  • Students receiving an orphan’s pension (official supporting document required)
  • Veterans, and children of martyrs or veterans (official supporting document required)
  • Students whose parents, or the students themselves, receive financial aid

To benefit from this additional grant, the student must submit a document showing that either the student or the student’s parents receive financial support from municipalities, public institutions such as ministries, Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations, the General Directorate of Foundations, the Turkish Red Crescent, or the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD).

Please note that all required documents must be submitted during the application period.
