KHAS Level Placement and Proficiency Exam (KHAS-LPPE)
This exam is held on the dates and days specified in the academic calendar of the School of Foreign Languages English Preparatory Program.
KHAS-Level Placement and Proficiency Exam is held at the beginning and end of the academic year and consists of two stages. KHAS-Level Placement Exam is administered at the start of the academic year and is strongly advised for all students wishing to enter the Preparatory Program.
LEVEL PLACEMENT EXAM
Levet Placement Exam is a test that measures English grammar and vocabulary skills. In this exam, students who do not pass the threshold are placed in Track 1 or Track 2 in the English Preparatory Program based on their scores. Students whose level is determined as B1 or higher in the Level Placement Exam earn the right to take the proficiency exam.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY EXAM

English Proficiency Exam is held at the end of Spring Semester and consists of three parts which measure reading (40%), listening (30%) and writing (30%) skills. Those who score 60 or more in total in Proficiency Exam are exempted from the English Preparatory Program and are entitled to begin their studies in the Faculties/Departments in the new academic year.
Students who can sit KHAS-English Proficiency Exam:
● Enrolled students who successfully complete the program
● Students whose level is determined as B1 or higher in the level placement exam
● Dismissed students who fulfilled the attendance requirement and are entitled to sit Proficiency exam according to the YÖK (Council of Higher Education) Law 2547 item 44 c.

Exemption from the KHAS Preparatory Program / KHAS Proficiency Examination
Students who wish to be exempt from the KHAS Proficiency Examination are required to obtain at least the minimum score specified in the table below from one of the international language examinations whose validity has been recognized by the Senate of Kadir Has University. In order to apply for exemption, students must submit the relevant examination score report to the Directorate of the School of Foreign Languages.

General Rules Applicable to All Examinations
- Result documents and certificates for all international English language proficiency exams listed in this table must be verifiable through the relevant testing organization. Result documents that cannot be verified or that do not include information on the test location and/or test date shall not be accepted.
- International English language proficiency exams taken in Türkiye shall be accepted only if the examination sessions are conducted in buildings belonging to state universities.
- International English language proficiency exams taken abroad shall be accepted only if the examination sessions are conducted at official test centers authorized by the relevant testing organization, provided that the test location and test date are clearly indicated on the result document and are verifiable.
- The validity period of exam results shall be limited to the period specified by the relevant testing organization and indicated on the verifiable result document. If no validity period is specified on the result document, the exam result shall be considered valid for a maximum period of five (5) years from the examination date stated on the document.
TOEFL iBT – Special Conditions
- Results provided under the MyBest Scores application shall not be accepted.
- Home Edition test results shall not be accepted.
- As of 21 January 2026, only results obtained under the new TOEFL iBT test system shall be accepted; results obtained under the previous TOEFL iBT test system are not included within the scope of this table.
- For the previous TOEFL iBT test system taken before 21 January 2026, the minimum accepted total score is 72.
Cambridge Linguaskill (General) – Special Conditions
- The test must be taken in the Full Test (All Modules) format.
- Only the Linguaskill General module shall be accepted; other modules (e.g., Business) shall not be accepted.
Oxford Test of English – Special Conditions
- For the Oxford Test of English and Oxford Test of English Advanced, only test results in which all modules are completed within the same test session shall be accepted.
