Sports at KHAS

Kadir Has University is active in many sports disciplines. Our university’s sports activities aim not only to develop students’ skills and talents, but also to provide quality leisure time, enhance physical abilities beyond academic and cultural pursuits, and contribute to overall physical health. At the same time, our sports teams represent the university in various disciplines at the University Sports Federation competitions. Teams that perform well in championships and achieve national rankings also qualify to participate in the EUSA European Games.

Sports activities at our university are conducted by expert coaches in the following areas:

• University team training
• Individual coaching
• Inter‑university events
• On‑campus sports events
• International competitions
• Special programs for the physical and mental development of both athletes and sedentary students

Our university has the necessary infrastructure and technical support for team formation, participation in sports events, and event organization. Beyond these facilities, the most important incentive is that students who participate in sports activities receive scholarships according to their performance.

Student‑athletes who represent the university in an official team and meet the conditions specified in the Undergraduate Scholarship Directive are awarded varying levels of the Athlete Scholarship. Students wishing to apply must complete the Prospective Student‑Athlete Scholarship Application Form. Additionally, under a protocol with the Ministry of Youth and Sports covering national team athletes, the “National Representation Scholarship” for the 2025–2026 academic year is awarded based on an evaluation by the University Scholarship Commission; successful applicants will be notified in writing before the end of the enrollment period. Priority sports for this scholarship—subject to available slots—are rowing, swimming, fencing, squash, basketball, volleyball, taekwondo, wrestling, karate, judo, sailing, athletics, skiing, and chess. Each sport has one slot.

Applications are submitted by completing the Prospective Student‑Athlete Scholarship Application Form. Results will be sent to the contact address provided on the form.
