In collaboration with Kadir Has University ArtClub and Photography Club, a full three-day cultural trip to Izmir was organized with a team of 26 people on May 2-3-4.
The trip started with a visit to the Ephesus Archaeological Museum to get to know Ephesus better. A short tour through the sculptures, objects of daily life and architectural remains of the ancient city gave the group a first insight into the history of Ephesus. The Temple of Artemis and the Basilica of St. Yohannes were then visited. Especially the impressive view of the basilica made the participants feel as if they were traveling back in time. The last stop of the day was the Selçuk Castle, where the participants enjoyed the view of the city.
The second day’s route was the Ancient City of Ephesus. During the detailed guided tour, structures such as the Slope Houses and the Library of Celsus were carefully examined. Then, the House of Virgin Mary, which is considered sacred for the Christian world, was visited. In the evening, the tour traveled to Kuşadası. The walk on the beach and the sunset was one of the favorite moments of many participants during the trip.
On the last day of the trip, the day started with a local breakfast in Şirince Village. The unique architecture and atmosphere of Şirince was explored with a short stroll through the village streets. Before returning to Istanbul, the group completed the trip with plenty of memories and cultural nourishment.
