Held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Kadir Has University Block D Grand Hall, the “Behind the Scenes” Gastronomy Summit attracted great interest, organized by the CooKhas Gastronomy Club. The event welcomed around 120 participants and brought together leading names from the gastronomy world with students.
The program opened with Berrak Tuna’s talk titled “Gastronomy in Social Media.” Tuna shared striking data on the rise of gastronomy in the digital world and guided attendees on effective social media strategies.

Pınar Aluç then drew attention to the environmental responsibilities in the sector by associating the concept of sustainability with gastronomy. This session, which attracted great interest especially from students, was inspiring for young people who want to make a difference in the sector.
One of the most eagerly awaited sessions of the day was Chef Refika Birgül and Chef Burak Arpak’s “Heritage Turkish Cuisine Techniques” presentation. Talking about the techniques of making traditional dishes, the chefs emphasized the importance of carrying the cultural heritage of Turkish cuisine into the future.
The Magnolia break with Cookshop and Thermomix Workshop, which took place in the afternoon, offered a sweet break to the participants and provided hands-on experience with the cookie decorating activity.
The coffee-themed part of the event was quite remarkable. Nestlé Professional Turkey Master Barista and SCA Turkey Authorized Trainer Taner Cankut Yıldırım presented comprehensive information on coffee culture and brewing techniques in two separate sessions. The hands-on presentation, which took place in a gastroshow format, was followed with interest by all the audience in the hall.
The event ended in a pleasant way with a raffle session at the end of the day.
We would like to thank Cookshop, Şölen, Thermomix and Oddly brands for sponsoring the event and all CooKhas Gastronomy Club members who contributed to the planning of the event.
