KHAS SFL English Preparatory Program Guest Lecturer Applications

At KHAS School of Foreign Languages, we prepare our students for the environments they will encounter in Kadir Has University’s English-medium academic programs through our English Preparatory Program (EPP) and the comprehensive language education in our Core Curriculum.

With approximately 1000 new students each year, EPP’s program plays an important role in helping new students acquire language skills and supporting the academic foundation for a healthy transition to academic life in their faculties. The program also develops academic literacy, critical thinking skills and study skills, equipping students with the necessary skills for the higher education environment.

We place a high value on academic integrity and academic standards in both of our programs, so we have high expectations of our students and ourselves. Institutionally, we embrace a willingness to improve through hard work, preparation for new challenges, openness to new ideas and a commitment to professional development. We therefore invite English instructors with excellent academic credentials to join us to make language learning a better experience, equipping additional students with the skills necessary for a higher learning environment.

Application Requirements

In order for the applications to be evaluated, the applicants must meet the following conditions:

1. To fulfill the general and special requirements specified in the Higher Education Law No. 2547 and the “Regulation on the Procedures and Principles Regarding the Central Examination and Entrance Examinations to be Applied in Appointments to Academic Staff Positions Other than Faculty Members” (published in the Official Gazette dated November 9, 2018);

For Turkish citizens:

Have at least a bachelor’s degree in related fields

To have a Master’s degree with thesis,

At least 3 years of teaching experience in English Preparatory Programs of universities in Turkey

At least 90 YDS score or an equivalent score from an internationally recognized proficiency test such as TOEFL.

For non-Turkish citizens whose first language is English:

Have at least a bachelor’s degree in related fields

or

At least a bachelor’s degree in another field and 2 years of language teaching experience in an internationally recognized school/center or CELTA/DELTA certificate

For non-Turkish citizens whose first language is not English:

At least a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2 years of language teaching experience in an internationally recognized school/center and a CELTA/DELTA Certificate

Excellent spoken and written English

Applicants whose first language is not English must also submit a YDS score of at least 90 or an equivalent score from an internationally recognized proficiency test such as TOEFL.
