Microsoft Teams – Lectures and Academic Events

Microsoft Teams is the communication platform used at our university for live lectures, seminars, project meetings, and private meetings. Participation is only possible with a KHAS e-mail account, and sessions can be recorded when necessary.

Web/Desktop: teams.microsoft.com

Mobile: Download the Microsoft Teams app for iOS/Android and log in with your KHAS e-mail address.

What Does It Offer?
  • Class & Meeting: Scheduling from calendar, one-click join.
  • Rooms: Small group work with Breakout Rooms.
  • Recording: Recording of necessary sessions and sharing with authorized persons.
  • Corporate Security: Authenticated users, permission-controlled access.
Step-by-Step Usage Based on your role
  1. Login: Sign in with your KHAS e-mail.
  2. Reach the class: Open the lecture/seminar link in the calendar.
  3. Join: Microphone off, camera optional.
  4. Interaction: Use raise hand or chat channel.
  1. Plan: Create a meeting from the calendar, share the invitation with students.
  2. Set options: Edit lobby, presentation, and attendance permissions.
  3. Rooms: Manage subgroups with breakout rooms.
  4. Record: Start Recording → recordings are stored in OneDrive/SharePoint.
Usage Tips Based on your role
  • Test your microphone/camera before joining.
  • If there is a connection issue, try a different browser/network; keep VPN off.
  • If there is an issue accessing the recording, inform the instructor.
  • Set attendance and presentation permissions before the meeting starts.
  • Check recording permissions in OneDrive/SharePoint.
  • Write and pin the rules in the chat at the beginning of the lesson.

Common Issues
  • Sound/Microphone not working: Check device settings.
  • Video freezing: Turn off background effects, prefer wired connection.
