Kadir Has University prioritizes the health and well-being of its community and society through education, research, and outreach. The on-campus health unit, staffed by a physician and nurse, provides preventive and primary care services to students, staff, and visitors. Social responsibility projects, such as KHAS110 modules in local schools, promote peer bullying awareness, emotional intelligence, and healthy habits. Faculty research addresses healthcare innovation, including AI-based digital services for MS patients and studies on optimizing hospital emergency infrastructure. Academic output includes publications on COVID-19 communication, medical supply chains, and patient safety, contributing to healthcare resilience and policy development.

The project will investigate visual comfort variables in today’s working conditions in conjunction with the significance of the human-centered lighting design concept, using a 1:1 scale controlled experimental environment. Additionally, one of the project’s objectives is to determine the energy performance level that results in optimal cost over the economic lifecycle for the proposed lighting scenarios. Within the human-centered lighting approach, the study will also assess the improvement rate of lighting energy performance achieved through the combined use of dynamic LED luminaires and lighting control strategies.

- In KHAS105, the Bioethics module discusses the impact of advances in gene and “human enhancement” technologies on individual and public health, together with the associated ethical issues.
- KHAS1810 Social Justice and Policy Change: students analyze three case studies on how political and social systems shape economic and social life. One case examines the 1980s food-pyramid debate in the USA—via a role-play of political actors, farm lobbies, and health institutions—to explore how health policies evolve under political-economic pressure.

- Health Service: Kadir Has University has a health unit that serves administrative staff, academic staff, and students. The health unit is staffed by one doctor and one full-time nurse and is also accessible to contractors and external visitors when needed. The unit provides preliminary diagnosis and initial treatment and ensures follow-up in subsequent stages of care.
