It is our distinct pleasure to announce that the project coordinated by\u00a0Asst. Prof. Esin Pa\u00e7a Cengiz<\/b>\u00a0from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema and entitled \u201cThe Invisible Labor of Women Filmmakers in Front of and Behind the Camera in the Turkish Cinema Industry: 1980-1995\u201d has been funded by\u00a0TUB\u0130TAK 3005 \u2013 Social Sciences and Humanities Program.<\/b><\/p>\n\n
This project will consider cinema as a collective production process and examine film production processes from a broader perspective. It will identify the role of women in the creative process who work in different positions in front of and behind the camera, who are not paid for their labor and whose names are not included in the film credits. In the light of the data collected during the project, women’s labor will be made visible and a conceptual framework, method and perspective will be developed as an alternative to established film historiography.<\/p>\n\n
