The shaping of the department and the development of its curriculum involved the contributions of \u0130smail Hakk\u0131 Polat, Mithat Bereket, and \u00d6zer Bereket, as well as then-Rector Y\u00fccel Y\u0131lmaz, Associate Dean Levent Soysal, and faculty members Lemi Baruh and Murat Akser. The curriculum that was created subsequently served as a model for various newly established New Media and Communication departments, providing a general framework.<\/p>

Due to the open-ended and constantly evolving nature of new media, the curriculum is regularly updated to keep pace with ongoing changes.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The curriculum of our department includes current topics such as:<\/p>

  • Social media expertise,<\/li>
  • Big data and data visualization,<\/li>
  • Digital content production and management,<\/li>
  • Cryptocurrency and blockchain applications,<\/li>
  • Digital application development workshops,<\/li>
  • Search engines and algorithms.<\/li><\/ul>

    Within the framework of our University\u2019s New Education Model, following the Core Program, the departmental curriculum has been restructured to emphasize project-based and project-oriented courses. These courses are conducted through active student participation, either as project implementations or as modules adapted to specific projects, with industry professionals taking part as mentors.

    \u0130smail Hakk\u0131 Polat and \u00d6zer Bereket, two of the founding members of the department and key figures whose professional experience has shaped its foundation, continue to teach and graduate students each year. In addition to the academic staff composed of experts in the field of new media, professionals from the industry also contribute to the program on a part-time basis. The language of instruction in our department is English.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    New Media Lab<\/strong><\/p>

    Students use the New Media Lab as a center for production and development. The workshops and training sessions held in the New Media Lab support students in discovering their creative potential, bringing their ideas to life, and making a difference in the professional world.<\/p>

    In the New Media Lab, students can produce content for various digital platforms using next-generation technological equipment such as 360-degree cameras, gimbals, and GoPros; they can share their content by developing appropriate strategies and conduct its analysis; they can also design and develop mobile applications.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
