KHAS Core Talks

We are pleased to inform you that, as the KHAS Core Program, next week we are starting a new series of public lectures that will take place on Tuesdays, at 20.00. This term, we aimed to introduce our team to you, but we also have valuable guests from outside the program.

Dear Prof. Dr. Fatmagül Berktay has kindly accepted to be with us with a talk on Hannah Arendt’s understanding of liberty, action and responsibility during the Human Rights week. This particular event is one that we organized in collaboration with the new KHAS Women’s Studies PhD. Program. Along with Prof. Berktay, Dear Dr. Şule Akdoğan from the University of Warwick and Prof. Dr. Mahir Şaul, who has been conducting a research project at KHAS on African migrants in Istanbul, also kindly accepted to spare their valuable time for the Core Talks. We are grateful to them and to all the other instructors of the Core Program who will be introducing to us a large variety of topics from “Dewey’s understanding of education and its relevance today”, to “women as warriors during the War of Independence”.

We hope you will be able to join us and enjoy the series. You may find the list of speakers and titles below.
