RTS Student Atakan Yılmaz’s Short Film is Winning International Accolades!
The short film “Hello Mom, It’s Me, Lou Lou”, written and directed by Atakan Yılmaz, a student of our Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, continues to appear in important festivals around the world.
The film had its European premiere at the 47th Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. Held from January 31 to February 8, 2024 in Clermont-Ferrand, France, the festival is known as one of the most prestigious events in the short film world.
“Hi, Mom, it’s me, Lou Lou” also:
- 29th Turkey/Germany Film Festival (Nuremberg) Short Film Competition Second Prize,
- At the 21st Akbank Short Film Festival, he was selected for the Festival Shorts section.
Other achievements of the movie during 2024 are as follows:
- 4th Luma Short Film Festival, Short Film Competition – Special Jury Award
- 31st Adana Golden Boll Film Festival, International Short Film Competition – Finalist
- 11th Uşak Short Film Festival, National Short Film Competition – Finalist
- 25th Izmir Short Film Festival, National Fiction Film Competition – Finalist
- 14th Crime and Punishment Film Festival, Short Film Competition – Finalist
