Prof. Dr. Mehmet Timur Aydemir Joined KHAS University, Department of Electrical – Electronics Engineering

Kadir Has University continues to enrich its structure, which is strengthened by the new education model, with new academic staff. In this context, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Timur Aydemir has joined the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. We’re happy and proud to introduce our new colleague to you. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Timur Aydemir received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering in 1983 and 1985 respectively at Karadeniz Technical University. After completing his PhD studies at the same university between 1985 – 1987, he left this university the same year after being entitled to receive the Ministry of Education scholarship. Between 1987 -1988, he first attended language school at the Middle East Technical University as required by the Ministry of Education scholarship and in 1988 he studied language at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for a year. Aydemir, who received his PhD in 1995 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has been proceeding his academic studies at Gazi University Engineering Faculty since 1995. He lectures bachelor’s degree courses on Power Electronics, Electrical Machinery, Drive Systems, Electrical-Electronics Engineering Design, Introduction to Electrical Engineering, Circuit Analysis and Industrial Control.

Prof. Dr. Aydemir, whose fields of interest are Power Electronics, Electrical Machinery, Drive Systems and Power Electronics Applications in Renewable Energy Systems, was awarded in 2013 for the “Successful Project Award” by the Ministry of Science, Industry, and Technology.
