PhD Student and Postdoctoral Researcher Positions Available in TUBITAK 2232 Project (Analysis of Adaptive Mechanisms)

We are looking for enthusiastic PhD Students/Postdoctoral Researcher to work in Asst.Prof. Yasemin Onder’s International TUBITAK 2232 Project entitled “Analysis of Adaptive Mechanisms in Inhibitory Neurocircuitry Underlying Metabolic and Neuropsychiatric Disorders.” The goal of this project is to understand the energy-status dependent plasticity in inhibitory neurocircuitry at a molecular and circuit level, employing multidisciplinary methods including cell culture, molecular biology, advanced imaging and mouse models.

Duration of the project is 36 months (with one year additional support for PhD students by TUBİTAK). Scholarship for PhD students is 5.500 TL and for Postdoctoral Fellow 7.500 TL (up to 8.500 TL for PhD students and 11.500 TL for Postdoctoral Fellow with the additional life support fund provided by Kadir Has University).

Requirements:

• MSc degree in Molecular Biology, Neuroscience or a similar field preferred for PhD applicants (or will receive MSc degree by Dec, 2022). For Postdoctoral Fellow position PhD in Molecular Biology, Biomedical Science, Neuroscience or a similar field is required. Must be in good standing (GPA at least 3/4).
• Must have wet-lab experience (at least 2 years for PhD applicants and at least 3+ years for Postdoc applicants).
• Preferably experienced with basic molecular biology and biochemistry methods such as : qPCR, cloning, DNA/RNA isolation, western blot.
• Preferably experienced with cell culture and using aseptic method.
• Preferably experienced working with mouse tissue and mouse handling. Experimental animal use certificate is a big plus.
• Experience and knowledge for microscope is a plus.
• Fluent English is necessary. Please send applications in English.
