Task Force for the Struggle Against Nuclear Terror in the Black Sea region

Kadir Has University will host the convening of the Task Force for the Struggle Against Nuclear Terror in the Black Sea region.

The meeting of the Task Force, which was established as a joint project by the Harvard Black Sea Security Program, the International Black Sea Studies Center, the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and Kadir Has University, will be held between 16-18 September, 2010, at our Cibali campus.

The Task Force, comprised of 20-25 diplomats, bureaucrats, scholars and NGO representatives, all of whom are experts on the Black Sea area, will come together to exchange ideas about the present situation and discuss future strategies concerning the struggle against nuclear terror in the region.

Within this framework, a number of issues will be discussed, including global initiatives, the illegal trafficking of nuclear materials, the present legal structure and its functions, and the necessary measures for strategic collaboration against the possibility of nuclear terror.
