Themes of Conflict in Middle Eastern Democracies: A Comparative Perspective from Israel and Turkey.

Middle East and Africa Research Center at Kadir Has University, The Van Leer Jerusalem Institute (VLJI) and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Turkey Office will organize two panels under the title of "Themes of Conflict in Middle Eastern Democracies: A Comparative Perspective from Israel and Turkey." The panels will take place on November 6 Thursday in the Galata Room at Cibali Campus of Kadir Has University, and the working language will be English.

The panels will bring together academics, politicians and members from civil society organizations from Israel and Turkey. In this meeting, we aim to open to discussion the processes of democratization, majoritarianism, political representation of grassroots movements and social reconciliation from a comparative perspective as well as alternative policies regarding these issues.
