Virginia Tech University’s College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences Signs its First Contract in Turkey with Kadir Has University

Kadir Has University has signed a collaboration agreement with Virginia Tech University’s College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, a leading institution in the US. Under the auspices of this agreement, the first signed by Virginia Tech University with a university in Turkey, a group of 20 students will be at Kadir Has University from June 4th to June 9th, 2012.

Prof. Sue Ott Rowlands, a dean at Virginia Tech, and Prof. Robert Siegle, director of The Center for 21st Century Studies, met with the rector of our university, and expressed their pleasure at having launched this collaborative effort.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, the rector of Kadir Has University, emphasized the importance of international research and projects, noting that such endeavors enhance the quality of universities which in turn helps students become better researchers. Prof. Aydın stated that the two universities will launch joint projects particularly for the departments of MIS, New Media, and Bioinformatics, highlighting the fact that this cooperation will support students who are interested in pursuing international research.

Within the context of these efforts, Kadir Has University students will be able to take advantage of the exchange program and participate in joint conferences and research. Additionally, the exchange program will be of benefit for our faculty members at Kadir Has University through the sharing of knowledge and joint publications.

This collaboration between Kadir Has University and Virginia Tech University’s College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences will be expanded with short-term educational trips, summer school courses of study, and dual-diploma programs.
