The Center for International and European Studies (CIES) at Kadir Has University, the Razumkov Centre, a leading non-governmental think tank in Ukraine and the Open Ukraine Foundation, a non-partisan international philanthropic foundation are holding a conference on “Enhancing Security in the Black Sea region and the prospects for Turkish-Ukrainian bilateral cooperation” on Friday, 13 May 2011 at Kadir Has University (Kadir Has Caddesi, Cibali – İstanbul).
The conference is supported by the Black Sea Trust for Regional Cooperation, a Project of the German Marshall Fund.
The meeting will include a select audience of some 40 participants of which 10 will be coming from the Ukraine (experts, Members of Parliament and Foreign Ministry officials). The restricted number of participants is meant to allow for a free-wheeling discussion.
The topics to be discussed include:

Approaches towards strengthening the stability and security in the Black Sea region
European integration of Turkey and Ukraine
Crimea in the context of the Black Sea security
CIES and the Razumkov Centre will produce a joint policy paper taking into account the findings of the conference for wider dissemination in the academic, policy and expert communities in Turkey, Ukraine and elsewhere.
