DJ Academy classes have begun under the organization of the Kadir Has University Lifelong Education Center. On Monday, March 8, the academy’s first students began spinning their way to fame under the guidance of the well-known DJ Salih Saka and his team.
Salih Saka and his team reported that the students performed remarkably well in the first class, which focused on types of music, what a DJ does, how to become a DJ and how to market yourself as a brand-name DJ: “These students are quite skilled and passionate about learning what it takes to become a DJ,” Saka said, “and the fact that they are taking this up while working full time in their professional careers shows just how dedicated they are. All of them have proven to be quite proficient, and I am sure they will go on to succeed in this sector.”
The newly launched Pioneer DJ Academy opens the doors for anyone who is interested in learning how to create and play music.
“Becoming a successful DJ demands a number of skills, and not just the ability to play good music: you should know a foreign language, you should have strong interpersonal skills, you should know how to research and you should constantly keep up with the latest developments in music around the world,” Salih Saka stated. He emphasized that strong personal connections are one of the keys to success, and that understanding the impact of personal appearance and being able to express yourself well are also crucial. The academy is geared to facilitate the acquisition of these skills, he said, adding that the program includes such courses as Public Relations and Brand Management.
The Pioneer DJ Academy is open to all applicants over the age of 13. The foundational stages of the program focus on learning about DJ equipment and how to use the tools of the trade, and course content is designed to ensure that upon completion, students will have a firm grasp of the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed as a DJ. There are two separate programs, each of which consists of 24 class hours: the Basic/Pro DJ Certificate Program and the DJ Production Certificate Program. The programs last 6 weeks, and the three-hour classes are held twice a week at a studio on the Kadir Has University Cibali campus. Participants will have the opportunity to do internships with leaders in the DJ industry at some of the hottest venues around, and successful graduates will also be able to take advantage of work opportunities at entertainment centers associated with the Turkish Investor Relations Association.
We are continually starting new sections of the DJ Academy, and registration is open.
