Euro-Mediterranean Forum for Young Researchers Wednesday, 13 – Friday, 15 April 2011

CIES will host the first Euro-Mediterranean Forum for Young Researchers at Kadir Has Univeristy – Cibali Campus on 13 – 15 April 2011 in cooperation with the Institute for Mediterranean Affairs (CIMA), the Hellenic Centre for European Studies (EKEM) and the Global Political Trends Center (GPoT).

The Euro-Mediterranean Forum for Young Researchers aspires to be a meeting point for young scholars and analysts engaged in research throughout the Mediterranean. To this aim, the Forum promotes an interdisciplinary approach to scientific research on EuroMediterranean issues. Participants have therefore been selected from various academic backgrounds. Areas of expertise include: anthropology, sociology, history, geography, economics, law, international relations, political science, communication and media studies, migration, security and cultural studies.

Selected participants will have the opportunity to present their current research (PhD theses, academic articles, policy briefs, research notes, etc.) and will receive feedback allowing them to amend and improve their drafts. In addition, they will meet with peers engaged in research activities throughout the Mediterranean and with representatives from leading academic journals specializing in Mediterranean affairs (Mediterranean Politics and International Journal of Euro-Mediterranean Studies). Finally, they will attend keynote lectures delivered by high profile researchers with a long-standing experience of Euro-Mediterranean relations.

More information is available on the Forum’s website.
