Dr. Güneş Aşık from TOBB ETU will be the next guest of Contemporary Debates, organized by Kadir Has University Department of Economics, with her speech “The Effects of Subsidizing Social Security Contributions: Job Creation or Informality Reduction?” on December 5 at 5 pm in Fener Hall.

About the Speaker: Dr. Güneş Aşık is an Assistant Professor of Economics at TOBB Economics and Technology University, Turkey. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from LSE (2015) and an MPA in International Development from Harvard Kennedy School (2006). She is also a also Research Associate at the Economic Research Forum-ERF and at Institut de recherche pour le développement – IRD, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. Her fields of research are Labor Economics, Applied Microeconomics, and Development Economics. She works on a wide range of data-intensive projects where she evaluates the impact of employment policies in Turkey using large administrative and observational data. She is also interested in formulating policies and interventions to close gender gaps in labor markets.
