Ukrainian-Turkish Strategic Partnership: What is Next? - 18 December 2018
The Center for International and European Studies (CIES) at Kadir Has University in partnership with the Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul, the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine, and the Kyiv-based Foreign Policy Council “Ukrainian Prism” will hold a panel discussion titled “Ukrainian-Turkish Strategic Partnership: What is Next?” to be held at Kadir Has University's Galata Hall on Tuesday, 18 December 2018 at 14:00.
Recent developments along Ukraine’s land and maritime borders have heightened the interest in understand what the stakes are in the Black Sea region. Among the major developments over the last few years in the region is a budding strategic partnership between Turkey and Ukraine.
The panel discussion, which will bring together both Turkish and Ukrainian experts, will address issues such as the regional challenges influencing relations between the two countries; the multilateral formats that can be beneficial for both Ukraine and Turkey; whether relations between the two countries can be considered as a strategic partnership; and what are the priority spheres that can contribute to the enhancement of relations between the two countries. The discussion will focus in particular on the security, maritime, energy, economic developments, and the rights of Crimean Tatars as well as any other relevant issue that may emerge during the discussion.
