NEEDS ASSESMENT WORKSHOP AT THE CIES AT KADIR HAS UNIVERSITY

Strengthening of civil society organizations and of the youth are one of priority areas and purposes of the Center for International and European Studies (CIES) at Kadir Has University. In accordance with this purpose; Good Governance Capturing has launched a project named.
The project will be implemented with civil society organizations, partners, advisory committees, youth committees, trainings, experts and stakeholders. Within the scope of the project, trainings aimed at capacity building and knowledge improvement; interaction between stakeholders and activities that will increase dialogue; internship opportunities for young people; commissions will be created where different generations will experience mutual learning and developing projects.
Good governance requires participation of all actors by definition. Civil society is a critical actor constantly changing with the aim of achieving more social impact. A professional civil society sector equipped with up-to-date knowledge, with appropriate capacity and expertise, is a mandatory component for social development. Based on the fact that CSOs are the heart of good governance; training and capacity building activities will be presented. We aim to determine the needs of the civil society with the contribution of you in order to carry out these studies effectively and to design and organize the road map together to ensure that these needs are met.
With the participation of key actors in civil society and research centers, the CIES organized a Needs Assessment Workshop on June 5, 2018 to identify changing needs in civil society organizations, identify priority areas for training and capacity building, and encourage constructive dialogue. This workshop focused on two main topics that are mainly targeting the capacities of CSOs: Institutional Capacity and Human Resources. In Institutional Capacity; management, funds (budget management), legal issues, communication and prestige / awareness / brand value will be focused. In Human Resources topic, the strengths and weaknesses of the level of knowledge and skill; opportunities and threats will be identified. In this workshop, revealing the changing needs of different types of CSOs are aimed.
