Associate Professor Dimitrios Triantaphyllou assumed the position of Director of the Center for International and European Studies at Kadir Has University, where he is also the Chair of the Department of International Relations, in September 2010. He holds a B.A. in Political Science and History from the University of California, Berkeley and a M.A. and Ph.D. in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. He was previously Director General of the International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS) and Assistant Professor of International Relations at the University of the Aegean, Rhodes (2006-2010). He was also Special Advisor at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic (2004-2006); Senior Research Fellow at the Hellenic Observatory of the European Institute at the LSE (2003-2004); Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Security Studies of the European Union, Paris (2001-2003); Research Fellow at the Institute for Security Studies of the Western European Union, Paris (1999-2001); Deputy Director of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP), Athens (1996-99); and Foreign Policy Advisor to a member of the European Parliament (1995). He has written and edited a number of books and articles pertaining to European security, developments in the Black Sea region and South-Eastern Europe, and Greek foreign policy. He is also Associate Editor of the Journal of Southeast European and Black Sea Studies, a member of the Greek-Turkish Forum, and co-convener of the Commission on the Black Sea.

Seren Bostan received her BA in International Relations from Kadir Has University. She also studied at Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen under the Erasmus Student Exchange Programme between 2012–2013 where she took courses on Creating International Events and Campaigns prior to joining the Center for International and European Studies in 2013 as an intern. In August 2015, she became the CIES’ Office Administrator. She also has a theatre background having been affiliated with the Child Theatre, the National Theatre, and University Theatre. She is currently performing in a private theatre.

Simla Yavaş received her B.S in Sociology from Middle East Technical University in 2006. She then worked at United Cities Local Governments Middle East West Asia Section as Local Agenda 21 Program Expert and Women’s Activities Coordinator. She was granted a SIDA Scholarship in 2008-2010 and received her M.S in Development Studies at Lund University in Sweden. She then worked at Junior Achievement Turkey, an international NGO on enterpreneurship, as a Project Manager. She joined the Center for International and European Studies in January 2014 as its Projects Coordinator.
