Laura Bastos-Pereira is, since 2010, a PhD Candidate in the International Relations – International Politics and Conflict Resolution program of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. She holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Coimbra and an MA in Advanced International and European Studies from the Institut Européen des Hautes Études Internationales, Nice. Her research focuses mainly on Turkish politics and her thesis is on the concept of identity in international relations and Turkish foreign policy. Since January 2014, she is a recipient of the "Turkey Scholarships".
Fatih Resul Kilinc
Fatih Resul Kilinc received his BA degree in International Relations from Bilgi University, Istanbul, Turkey in 2012 where he worked as a departmental researcher for a year. During his undergraduate studies, he spent one academic year at Kingston University, London. Having been granted a Chinese Government Full Scholarship in 2012, he moved to China to study for an MA in Political Science at Tsinghua University, Beijing where he wrote a thesis on the impact of domestic politics on the allocation of development aid. After his graduation, he briefly worked with the Turkish Embassy in Beijing as a researcher on the selection procedure of the Chief Executive of Hong Kong. To gain more expertise in research, he worked as an intern at International Strategic Research Organization (USAK) at the Center of Asia Pacific in 2014. He then moved to Canada and worked as teaching assistant at Brock University for the following courses – Introduction to International Relations, International Political Economy, and Political Science. He is currently a PhD student in International Relations at Kadir Has University.
